Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a common digestive disorder characterised by a group of symptoms that can include abdominal pain, bloating, cramping, diarrhoea and constipation. This is due to abnormal movement of the colon which can cause pain and loose stool/diarrhoea. An increase in water absorption by the colon can cause constipation and inflammation in the bowel can lead to the production of excess mucus.
